Help when things go wrong

Windows XP Help

Don’t forget there is a whole host of information in the Windows XP Help facility.  Simply choose ‘Help and Support’ from the Start Menu.

System Restore

System Restore is an invaluable tool designed to undo harmful changes to your computer.  If your computer is not working as well as it has done in the past, you can easily return it to a previous working state without losing your documents and email messages.  To do this, go to the Start menu, choose All Programs> Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.  System Restore is typically the tool to use if your computer has a problem and you cannot work out what it is.

Remote Assistance

Remote Assistance enables you to invite someone to help you and remotely control your computer.  You can use this if you have an internet connection and a friend you trust using Windows XP.  To use Remote Assistance, go to the Start menu, and choose ‘Help and Support’.  Click on ‘Invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance’ and follow the instructions on screen.

Staying secure and up-to-date

Many problems can be avoided by making sure that your system is secure and your data is protected.
